Superbowl Sunday

Game day is finally here!! The Broncos are facing off against the Panthers and my whole family and I are rooting for them!

This has been a big weekend for me! My boyfriend's birthday was yesterday so Friday night we celebrated with an amaaaazing dinner at The Pearl. Really, does Cameron Mitchell make a bad dish?? Bonus, The Pearl was celebrating their three year anniversary so we received a promo for a free appetizer on our next visit. Lamb meatball, we shall meet again soon.... πŸ˜‹

Saturday was another foodie day with lunch at Harvest pizza. It might be the smallest restaurant I've ever been to, but their pizza is To. Die! I ordered the Geary Street which was clams and garlic. Mind. Blown. What a strange combination of pizza but I would highly recommend it if you ever find yourself around German Village.

I digress...

I took the easy route with my Super Bowl spread. More finger foods than heavy food. I predict that I'll be cheering on my Broncos too loudly to shovel food in my mouth anyway.

I used Pinterest to find this cracker, summer sausage, cheddar cheese, and ranch combo that is supposed to a football. I sliced the summer sausage and then used a shot glass (of all things) to make mini circles to fit onto the cracker. Same with the cheddar cheese slices. It didn't look exactly like the Pinterest picture, but the effort was there! I poured some ranch into a sandwich bag and snipped a corner to create the laces. The laces later looked like blobs because the ranch ran together. πŸ˜’ again, I tried!

I wanted to serve beer from Denver, but couldn't actually find any Denver breweries. I went for Anchor Steam, as its from San Fran and that's where the Super Bowl is being held. It was second best to having a local Denver beer.

These orange chevron straws add some color to my spread. Not to mention United in Orange is the only way to be tonight! These cookies were from Giant Eagle bakery. They tasted exactly like chocolate donuts! Giant Eagle bakery never disappoints. I shop there for every holiday/occasion! Next up, Valentine's Day...

I can't wait for game time! Good luck to the Broncos!!

AFC Championship

Hello hello! I'm writing this post during halftime 😬😬 My previous post was reminiscing our ski trip just a couple of weeks ago in CO. Now I'm cheering on my Broncos in Columbus, OH (from the comfort of my couch). The AFC Championship always comes down to the same two teams: Patriots and Broncos. Well, LET'S GO BRONCOS!!!!!

This game surely snuck up on me, as far as preparing snacks go. I ended up just throwing a pizza in the oven and calling it a day. I figured it was better to focus on a game day outfit rather than game day food (which really only matters when it's a super bowl party!)

This full circle skirt from New York and Company was a favorite of mine this summer and fall. The sunset orange color is the perfect transition piece from the neon summer palette to the jewel tones in the fall. During this time of year,
It help me be United In Orange with the rest of the Broncos fans out there.

My graphic tee from Junk Food clothing is a high-lo fit that's soft and comfortable. I can wear it with leggings, jeans, or dress it up with this skirt.

These suede BCBG's have been my second skin for the last two years. They're at the point where they have formed to fit my feet perfectly and I never want to take them off.

Here's to hoping the Broncos make it to the Super Bowl!! Looking forward to having two weeks to plan outfits and food for the Big Game πŸˆπŸ‘

Ski Bunny 🐰

Welcome to the town of Breckenridge!  The town was still decorated with lights and Christmas decorations which was perfect for our trip!  As part of our Christmas presents, my parents bought my brother and I a ski trip!  We found amazing fares on Frontier airlines for $32 one way - the catch was, we left Cincinnati at 5:20am on Weds and left Denver at 7:20pm on Saturday.  We all chuckled at how we left for the airport at 2:30am and then returned home from the airport also at 2:30am - crazy how that worked out, right?!

With my dad being from Colorado, I've only been skiing in CO.  This was my 4th time and I was still pretty nervous.  The blue runs are probably equal to the black diamonds in Ohio! Even though it was cold in CO, it wasn't very windy so, with all of my layers, I was able to stay warm while skiing all day.

I fell a lot!  It wasn't graceful and it wasn't pretty, but it was fun!  I mean, my legs were twisted and pointing in ways they shouldn't!  So thankful I didn't report back to work on Monday in a body cast...

If you're planning a trip to Breckenridge ever, the top 5 things to do (other than ski, duh):
1. SHOP - be a tourist and buy the Breck March (especially at the Glass Art Company)
2. Wait in line for CrΓͺpes a La Cart - I know it's cold, but they have a fire pit so if you're in a group, you can trade off who waits in line and who stays warm by the fire
3. Ride the Gondola - It's not heated, but it keeps out the cold air and seats 8 people.  Plus, it's FREE
4.  Make dinner reservations (We wanted to try Canteen but it's so small inside and we didn't have a reservation so we left to find another place.  But every place was just as busy.  After an hour of walking outside and being tired and hungry, I think we all got a little cranky :(
5.  Rent a condo with a hot tub - that's the perfect way to end a day of skiing, I promise!!

This isn't a what would Kiki wear post, but I wanted to share my pictures from the trip!  I was bundled up under layers of sweaters, scarf, and pomp beanies!  But what better way to start the new year and motivate my to continue blogging than having one of my pictures reposted on Instagram?  The first photo above was reposted by Colorado Activities on their website and their Instagram (Colorado Activities).

NY Resolutions!

I've enjoyed reflecting on 2015 {with the help of social media - time hop, instagram, etc} and looking forward to what 2016 will bring! Every year, I try to set a new year resolution - something that can reinvent me!  I already work out in the mornings and read at night so things like 'going to the gym' or 'reading more' isn't really an accurate way to better myself.

A New Year's Resolution can be fun and motivating at the same time.  I've been feeling inspired to get back into blogging after my long hiatus in 2015.  I miss the blogging world, so I'm challenging myself to get back into it in 2016!  According to Instagram, my best 9 (aka the pics with the most likes) captured 5 pics used for blogging, 2 pics from my boyfriend and I's 'band, 1 {vacation} selfie, and the trip of a lifetime to the American Music Awards in LA!  These are three hobbies that I want to strengthen in 2016: blogging, playing music, and traveling.

I need to hold myself accountable for these goals but will also look to the support and feedback from all of you!

What are your new year's resolutions?  I want to know!
